As you can see, i couldn't draw OR shade before i started my coursework.

BEFORE
this was done in sec 3, it's suppposed to be a drawing of black and white paper. so the darker parts are meant to be black paper and the lighter parts are white paper. i must have been quite a failure haha.
AFTER!
I am very excited. This is my only human drawing that i really put in a lot of effort for. It is a drawing of f(x) member Amber.
it looks a little weird after scanning though.
This is the top view of a fox! It is one of the drawings in the coursework final. they're many more but i dunno which one to put up haha.

ReplyDeleteyup, the 'after' drawings are very realistic, especially the fox. Loved how you captured the furriness and soft feel of the fox's fur. The black and white strips could do with some blending though :)

Maybe that's why you put in such a tremendous amount of effort into the 2 work ) I love how realistic the human figure was and at the same time it wasn't the kind that I do, which is usually shaded everywhere until the paper becomes grey and dirty :('

ReplyDeleteI am exactly like you :D My works in Secondary One and Two were really terrible that I could just cry and die, looking at them now...
However, I am glad that both of us has made such great improvements in the past year!
Your artworks have improved like WOW. Even more than me I think! And that is an awesome thing because that means you have put in a lot more efforts and interest into art, be it during AEP or when you are just drawing for fun!
Your shading skills have improved tremendously,like you have just jumped off to the moon (a BIG STEP if you dont get it =.=)! Your tonal shading has become a lot more fluid and the pencil lines blend in a lot more which makes your forms even more realistic!
Your eye for detail has also improved! Tiny details and shades are picked out really well :)
And why is your shading still so neat?

You really did improve ALOT in your drawing (:
you are more sensitive to shades and blend better now!
however, i think you can improve on your drawings by increasing the number of tones between the really light areas and the really dark areas. for example, you could have added more tones to her forehead and her cheeks to show the contours. I also think you could have made the darker regions even darker, it would increase the contrast and the drawing would seem more 3D and realistic!!
